Breakfast with Melanie Fiona

I was watching 106 and park the other day trying to put the whole work day that had just past behind me and Melanie Fiona’s video called,”It Kills Me” came on and I was pretty mesmerized to say the least. Most “Urban” video’s are so repetitive it’s sickening. I really didn’t expect something of this quality to be squeezed in between the redundant video’s played on 106 and park.

Melanie Fiona’s voice is magnificent. The pain, love and truth in her tracks feels good. I’m really glad she’s not dancing or shaking her ass. I wish we could go back to the days when women just sang and didn’t do any other extra stuff to cover up their lack of talent. I mean Beyonce is the quintessential exception, but yall know what and who I’m talking about.

Melanie’s debut album called “The Bridge” just dropped and after hearing this song, it’s something I might just have to cop. I’m looking forward to watching her rise as a star. Check out her video for “It Kills Me” below.
