DJ AM x DJ Premier Rival Pack Release by Nike Sportswear

Nike recently released the DJ AM x DJ Premier Rival Pack and had a special release party for it. One of the dopest up videographers in the game, Kellen Dengler was there to capture everything.  A lot of people showed up to the release like the legendary DJ Clark Kent, Bmx heavyweight Nigel Sylvestor and the man himself, the legendary DJ Premier. The place looked like it had a great atmosphere, but the release also shed light on the other person featured in the rival pack who is no longer with us, DJ AM. The love for DJ AM and DJ Premier can be seen and heard through out the video.

Kellen was kind enough to tell us here at Flawless Hustle what the release party was like from his point of view:

So last night marked the release of the DJ AM (R.I.P.) x DJ Premier Rival Pack at 21 Mercer in SoHo NYC. I’ve been working consistently with Nike Sportswear for about the past year, but I honestly feel like last night’s event had more energy than any of the previous ones I can remember. The place was packed, the music was live with DJ Premier on the 1’s & 2’s, and everyone had a good time. I feel like if you didn’t have a good time something is wrong with you, because I was working all night and had a blast!

All of the proceeds from the sale of the Rival Pack went directly towards the DJ AM Memorial Fund. I think it’s very cool that Nike did it like that and finished up this release in his memory. I’m not one to jump bandwagon when celebrity’s pass away and pretend like I cared when I didn’t, but I will never forget my very first night in NYC in the summer of 2006, when I saw DJ AM and Travis Barker absolutely DESTROY a set at Stereo. I had that night in my mind last night and was reminded of how much fun I had in NYC that summer. Good times. Primo also happens to be my favorite producer of all time and he kills it every time I’ve seen him spin. My ringtone on my phone has been Gang Starr’s “Work” for years (ask anyone who knows me).

All in all it was a great time with great people and in the words of DJ Clark Kent “Nike Sportswear did the rightest thing possible with this event.”

Kellen is one of the people you need to keep your eye on in this decade. and the DJ AM x DJ Premier Rival Pack is something you need in your life this year.

From Nike Sportswear we have two offerings. First, the Halloween themed Air Safari, which is Black and Grey, with Orange accents:

The second offering from Nike Sportswear is the ‘Savage Beast’ Air Force 1, which features an all Orange Horsehair upper, and even a Horsehair midsole, which is a first for any Nike sneaker.

Lastly, Nike SB offers us a Dunk Low SB with definite Halloween tones, the Dunk Low SB ‘Orange Un-Hemp’, which has Orange nubuck frame, hemp side panels and toe box, a black Swoosh, and an Orange midsole. The reason for the Un-Hemp moniker, is that only the side panel and toe box are hemp, as opposed to previous Nike SB Hemp releases like the Bonzai Hemps, Mahogany Hemps, or Cascade Hemps, which had all hemp uppers with suede Swooshes.
