There’s Money in Hating the President…

Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News, knows this. Thats why he pushes for the commentators on his network to bash our president. Bernd Debusmann, blogger for reuters.com, recently wrote an article entitled, “The Lucrative Business of Obama-Bashing” which gives you an eye into the hustle of Rupert Murdoch.

Rupert Murdoch has long been in the business of mass manipulation for profit. There is an old adage that says, “He who controls the food, controls the people.” Well I’m going to add a new one; “He who controls the media, more importantly the news, Controls the minds of the people.” Rupert knows that It’s all mind over matter.

Everything is neutral. Your opinion about a given action or situation heavily relies on your perception and past events. I imagine that most of the people at Fox News don’t really see what their doing as bad; Theyre just commentors, they’re just entertaining. What they do see as good, is the money they generate by bashing the president day in and day out. Rush Limbaugh has said on T.V. time and time again that he does everything he’s doing for money.

Four days before Barack Obama was sworn into office, a prominent radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, told his conservative listeners that a major American publication had asked him to write 400 words on his hopes for the Obama presidency.

“I…don’t need 400 words,” he said, “I need four: I hope he fails.”

The controversy over his ill wishes for the president caused, as he put, his ratings to go “through the roof,” a reassuring development for a man who makes $38 million a year under an eight-year contract that runs through 2016. The score of that early skirmish: Limbaugh 1, Obama 0.

People can get the truth straight from the horses mouth and still turn a blind eye towards it. Ask yourself – “if I could make a guaranteed 38 million dollars a year for the next 8 years by bashing the president, as well as spewing some forms of hate in between, would I do it?” I don’t know if its a hard question for those of us with bills kicking our ass every 25 days or so with no end in sight.

America is a capitalist country. Everything is about the bottom line; about profit. People must also understand that when it comes capitalism and profit, there can be no morals or ethics in profit. It just doesn’t work. There’s no room for it. Any sign of them is an illusion.

The shows by Fox’s top conservative commentators all showed steep increases, but none more than Glenn Beck (up almost 90 percent), who said of Obama on a Fox show in July: “This president has exposed himself as a guy, over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people and white culture.”

Commentators aiming for shock value are not in the business of context, such as pointing out, for example, that Obama’s mother was white and that he had close and cordial relations with his white grandparents. Obama was visibly shaken when his white grandmother, Madelyn Dunham died, a day before he was elected president.

Beck’s “hatred for white people” remark prompted several advertisers to abandon his show but that didn’t hurt the bottom line. A Fox spokeswoman said at the time that offended advertisers had shifted to other Fox programmes so there was no revenue lost.

The advertisers know this, thats why they didn’t pull their adds completely from the channel. They just moved them to another program on the channel so they wouldn’t lose money, despite the fact that everyone at fox news hold the same views as beck.

Even though I personally hate the fact they do spew so much hate towards the president because it has a way of transposing itself on my race, I can’t hate them for wanting to survive. No profits means no Fox News. Everyone wants to survive. And they know that their more profit in being “Bad” than there is in being “Good”. Thats something the media in general understands. Sex, drugs and violence on television will always be more profitable than trying to raise money and awareness about dying africans in the sudan, or talking about the miraculous efforts of many food bank workers to feed the needy and homeless.

The only way to defeat fox news is to cripple their rating. No rating means no profits. No profits means no fox news as we just discussed. But the reason that wouldn’t happen is because fox news isn’t in the business of just hating the president. That would be to myopic of an angle. Fox news is in the business of maintaining white supremacy in america. And there’s a whole group of white people that shake in their boots every time they think they’re further being pushed in to the minority category. So they’ll gladly buy into Fox news rhetoric to maintain the reality they want to see. Fox news is playing a psychological game for profits. What did I say before? It’s all mind over matter.

So hey all you white people listening to Limbaugh and shaking in your boots, Ill let you in on a little secret about your place in america…

…Actually nah, If you dont know, I’m not saying word.

But to everyone else – Recognize the hustle and stop playing stupid.
