Sperm “May Slow Aging Process”

I’m sure everyone has heard one study or another confirming the health benefits of sperm. I first heard a study saying it lowers a females risk of getting cancer in highschool. A bunch of homies and I used to joke that it might be a convincing way to get some oral gratification from the opposite sex. This is America, all we care about is money and sex right?
Well in the last couple years we’ve also become very health conscience. It’s became the new ”IT” thing in America. Caring about your body has been touted as being just as important as saving the earth! As if we weren’t born with a body, and just got one in the last couple years.
Well if you really want to jump on the health band wagon, here’s your chance (Ladies!). New research is suggesting that a certain chemical in sperm could actually slow, or reverse the aging process. No need for tummy tucks and botox injections anymore. Just head on down to your local sperm bank.
A new study by scientists at Graz University found that spermidine, a compound that is found in sperm, slows aging processes and increases longevity in yeast, flies, worms and mice, as well as human blood cells, by protecting cells from damage.
Cell aging happens when a natural process called autophagy – a sort of cellular cannibalism whereby damaged cells or parts of cells are recycled – goes wrong.
Spermidine concentration has been shown to decline with age. Read More…
