Brunch with Angela Basset

We’ll call this one brunch. Limited edition joint. Savor it. Angela Evelyn Bassett (born August 16, 1958) has always been the most consistently beautiful woman in hollywood. While these other actress stay under the knife, Angela keeps it all the way natural. She’s probably been passed up for career changing roles for that reason. You know how they do black women in hollywood. Halle Berry had to do that bag of bones Billy Bob Thornton in order to get an oscar. Jennifer Hudson got an oscar not so much for acting, but her singing. Doesn’t really count.
Here’s a little bit about Angela from Wikipedia:
Bassett attended Yale University and received her B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980. In 1983, she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale, Bassett met her future husband Courtney B. Vance, a 1986 graduate of the drama school. After graduation, Bassett worked as a receptionist for a beauty salon and as a photo researcher.
Angela should be a role model for all the young black girls out there. She commands respect by displaying the respect she has for herself first. A rare quality these days. Shout out to Courtney B. Vance for having the wherewithal to recognize a legend in the making and putting a ring on it.

stop the hate please, hating on them won’t change the fact Angela doesn’t have an oscar.. they both worked hard for them and deserve em.. Black people are a trip to me you have to tear others down to raise another one up .. LAME

Whats up Lea?
Im not hating on any of those two. I actually really dig their work. I was just stating a fact about the industry many black actresses themselves complain about. Halle had to be damn near degraded to get her oscar. And J. hud won hers for basically playing a singer which she already is. Angela has spoken on this dynamic in past interviews. Angela has played better roles than both of them combined(My opinion, not hers as far as I know). Her resume speaks for itself. Check it out.
But of course your entitled to your opinion, as am I.

I don’t have to say much now, because LEA has said a mouth full. I love and respect Angela for her work, but to say Jennifer Hudson Oscar don’t really count is pretty lame on your part. It does not matter if she played a role she already are. Jennifer did a hell of a job in dreamgirls. She earned hers and thats not going to change do to your words. I don’t really care about your back ground either. If you are an actress then act. The fact still remains you don’t have an Oscar. Don’t try to knot someone elsa, because you have not gotten one yet its not Jennifers fault. Jennifer Hudson also has a very large fan base, and we will back her up. Its all a matter of opinions and we all have one.
