Kia Soul Collective Show – N.E.R.D

I also got the chance to check out the N.E.R.D Show that Kia was putting on for the Soul Collective Series. I Haven’t really followed their music, but their show was serious as hell. I’ve never seen Pharell really bug out on stage. I always see that nigga croonin trying to be Micheal Jackson; Or a Basquiat x Warhol hybrid somewhere. This dude was  jumping around and screaming and getting it in on stage. I could respect it. He was doing something totally different than what heads know him for and really did it to the fullest. The whole N.E.R.D thing is serious to him and he made me a believer. When their album drops, I’ll more than likely cop it.

Especially since they added this new chick to the squad to the click named Rhea. She was really hot and sang her ass off. It was kind of hard to hear them individually. The show was kind of clutter sonically. But there were some parts where she was shining and you couldn’t deny her star power. I was always directly in front of the stage where she was standing situated directly between her legs it felt like. So I got to know her well being she stayed on my side of the stage for most of the show. Here’s was MTV had to say about the singer:

The addition of Rhea, introduced to the band by a mutual friend, has the producer promising some lofty things for the foursome’s next project.

The Neptunes artist explained Rhea might be petite, at just 5-foot-4, but her booming voice and her classical background blend in with the genre-bending trio of N.E.R.D., also including Chad Williams and Shae.

Rhea, a Toronto native of Guyanese descent, met the fellas only once in person before she auditioned for them via Skype. She sang “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.” Her rendition impressed the guys, and she soon found herself signing on.
